A Day in Hanoi: PM

Ok, I admit it: there was food involved when I took this photo. I even snapped it. Finally I graduated to eating full on Asian style, low plastic tables and chairs (think kiddie height) and ordering off a menu that did have an English translation, but the waitress barely spoke it and didn't really want to be bothered with us round-eyes. Or so it seemed. Meanwhile I sat right in front of the inside dining and watched the restaurant staff and locals watch the soccer match Thailand vs.Vietnam (how coincidental). The game ended up being a tie, but still they were excited . Oh, btw- the beef with celery and garlic was delicious, really really great. Even though it wasn't celery it was scallions (so what).

Have another whirl of a day tomorrow and leave on the 7pm overnight train to Hue. It was that or get to the airport at 5am, to sign up for a possible standby. So, that ticket bites the dust, geez...that visa was expensive! The adventure continues with Hue and then Hoi An. That is why H is for Vietnam (at least this version).
